I hope my house is the house that all my children’s friends want to crash after school. “things always smell nice & she cooks for us!” I hope when wrinkles and gray hair find me I’m still adventuring and taking every moment for what it is- a gift. I hope for evenings spent on porches with both good conversation and silence. I hope for spontaneous slow dances in the kitchen and plants all over the house, blooming the way our love for one another will.

earlier today i was thinking about the thousands of girls who post videos on youtube reviewing makeup and talking about their fav products and making tutorials and how no girl has ever once done it just to impress men like literally that whole community exists just for girls because it’s something that so many of us enjoy and yet men still think that we wear makeup for them

so it was my best friend’s 16th birthday and we had this really intense sexual tension since i kissed him by accident this one time and we were with all our other friends so he took me into another room and said “i literally think i’m in love with you” and then we just kissed for like half an hour until he finally started pulling my shirt up but then his mom walked in and didn’t even flinch like literally “hey son i’m ordering pizza oh hi girl who is making out with my son” and kept talking and we were just standing there uncomfortably and when we finally unfroze he yelled “MOM IT’S MY BIRTHDAY” and that’s the story of the first time my fiancé told me he loved me.
